TEAMS FOR ALL LEVELS
At DSAPA, we value dancers of all levels. We carefully construct each team to provide our dancers with the best opportunity for growth and success. Team placements are based on a variety of factors, including age, skill level, technical ability, performance quality, commitment, and overall readiness. Our goal is to create balanced teams where dancers feel challenged, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.
Team Experience
Each team trains together weekly in their required classes. Although we are a large studio, our team-based training system helps in creating an environment where every dancer is seen, supported, and connected. Our team structure allows for stronger relationships with coaches, meaningful team bonding, closer friendships, and memorable experiences throughout the season, including team parties, custom team gear, and special team activities.
Rather than feeling lost among our hundreds of dancers, each team becomes its own close-knit pod—a place where dancers develop a strong sense of belonging, accountability, and camaraderie. This team-focused structure helps foster confidence, encourages personal growth, and creates lasting friendships both inside and outside the studio.
Each team competes two large group routines at competition. If dancers want to compete in more than the two routines, we have additional small and large specialty routines that are optional.
BANQUETS
At DSAPA, our competition team end-of-season banquet is more than an awards ceremony—it's a celebration to remember. Each year, we create a unique themed experience complete with elegant décor, coordinated theme colors, and special surprise team reveals that make the evening unforgettable.
Every dancer is invited to bring a guest and enjoy a formal evening dressed in gowns and attire inspired by the banquet theme. The event honors the hard work, dedication, and accomplishments of our dancers while creating lasting memories with teammates, family, and friends.
In recent seasons, we have hosted our banquets at the beautiful Richard Nixon Library, providing a stunning backdrop for an evening filled with celebration, recognition, and excitement.
